Hypnotherapy to Manage Pain: Understanding Pain As A Message
Pain is a signal from your body, mind and soul.
A person can learn to take back control of their pain responses.This involves coming to understand and scale the problem they are having and determining what their average pain level is. If anxiety and/or depression are also present with the experience of pain, some sessions address pain elimination while others address the connection between the pain they experience and the anxiety and or depression.
People Pleasing: The Pain From Compromising Who You Are
We can learn to return to ourselves. We can learn to stop letting our own sense of calm be guided by everyone else’s moods. We can begin to ask ourselves, What do I feel? What do I want? What works for me? We can base our choices and decisions on what is true for our authentic selves.
Perfectionism is a Protection
Perfectionism is promoted in many cultures and the traits of perfectionism have lodged their way into our personalities and habits. However, there is more to perfectionism than drive for success. In the holistic psychology model, perfectionism is a survival strategy and a way our body and mind work together to manage fear. We present ourselves a certain way to avoid abandonment, criticism, or shame. Perfectionism feels like it is working because when we follow it’s tenets we receive approval, love, or validation for showing up a certain way. The problem is that inside we don’t accept the approval, validation, or love as having been received for being who we are. Instead, we attribute the approval, love, or validation as being offered in response to our perfection. Deep down we yearn, not to be loved for being perfect, but to be loved for who we are
Courageous Authenticity
Courageous authenticity is:
Outwardly expressing your true self;
Having the courage to speak and be true to what is true for you in your heart without altering or betraying yourself in order to please another;
Daring to share your uniqueness with the world.
